Outsourcing and Global Capability Center Recovery

Phil Hatch leads a defined recovery mandate for outsourcing engagements and owned delivery centers. Work begins with the material service and control problems, the authority to act, and the resources required to correct them.

Recovery Mandate and Executive Authority

Recovery is appropriate when service failures repeat, reporting cannot be reconciled to delivery, important changes stall, or the relationship cannot resolve material issues. The assignment begins with the decision required, the authority to act, the people responsible, and the evidence needed to assess progress.

Phil leads the agreed recovery work. Institutional and provider workstream owners perform their assigned actions. Specialist and program-management support is defined where required. Recovery is a management role, with independent verification of material closure assigned separately.

Outsourcing and GCC Recovery

Contracted delivery

Outsourcing Engagement Recovery

Address service, reporting, co-management, workforce, commercial, and control problems across the financial institution and provider. Co-management means the two firms’ shared arrangements for decisions, risks, changes, and review.

Owned delivery

GCC Performance and Recovery

Assess a global capability center against its approved purpose. Address the parent-center relationship, demand, capability, service, cost, talent, knowledge, and controls.

  • Reconcile the baselineExamine delivery records, reported outcomes, costs, exclusions, and human work. State what is observed and what remains estimated.
  • Contain material exposureRecommend or lead proportionate interim measures within the institution’s authority and incident arrangements.
  • Lead prioritized correctionResolve ownership, process and data, reporting, capability, oversight, and change problems according to the evidence.
  • Set the dispositionSupport a decision to continue, restructure, transfer, or exit when the current arrangement cannot meet the agreed requirements.
  • Handover and verifyDemonstrate changes in operation, transfer responsibilities, retain visibility of residual issues, and arrange independent verification.

Recovery Deliverables and Handover

The commissioned outputs include an agreed baseline, prioritized issue and action register, recorded executive decisions, evidence of operating corrections, a supported continuation or transition plan, and named owners for the work that remains.

An initial recovery phase may be planned over 90 days. Scope, timing, dependencies, and milestones are agreed for the actual situation. The assignment does not guarantee a turnaround or a predetermined savings result.

Recovery Scope and Commissioning

Must an audit come first?

No. A recovery mandate can be commissioned directly when the concern and required role are sufficiently clear. The initial work still establishes the evidence and baseline needed for decisions.

Will Phil take over the engagement?

Phil can lead the agreed recovery and exercise explicitly delegated authority. The institution retains its management obligations and supplies the agreed resources. The mandate states which decisions Phil can make and which remain with the sponsor.

Who verifies that corrections work?

Qualified personnel independent of implementation verify material closure. Phil supplies the evidence and responds to challenge. Akholi does not independently certify its own management corrections.

What if the situation is already a crisis?

Use Crisis Response for direct personal contact within 24 clock hours, including weekends. Acceptance, scope, and mobilization are agreed separately.
