Foundation course

Outsourcing Lifecycle Management

A shared management framework from preparation through exit.

Format and participants: 2 days onsite. Up to 15 participants.
Practical output: A peer-reviewed management plan for a live engagement, prepared for the engagement sponsor.
Preparation: Pre-reading and a survey identify participants’ questions and tailor the class.
Prerequisite: No prior Akholi course.

Master class

Governance, Oversight & Risk

Develop ownership, oversight, and control arrangements through participants’ live engagements.

Format and participants: 2 days onsite. Up to 15 participants.
Practical output: A governance action plan for each engagement, prepared for sponsor or board review. The plan identifies accountable owners, priorities, required decisions, and control evidence.
Preparation: A pre-class interview and engagement materials from each participant. Akholi analyzes the materials in advance and tailors the class to the engagements and the institution’s governance framework.
Prerequisite: Outsourcing Lifecycle Management.

Master class

Performance Optimization

Validate the baseline and plan improvements for one live engagement with its cross-functional team.

Format and participants: 2 days onsite. One engagement team.
Practical output: A performance improvement plan for the engagement, with an evidence-supported baseline, corrective actions, accountable owners, dependencies, and a verification and review cadence. Quantify value where the available evidence supports it.
Preparation: A pre-class interview and materials for the selected engagement. Akholi analyzes the evidence in advance and tailors the class to that engagement and its cross-functional team.
Prerequisite: Outsourcing Lifecycle Management.

What the institution receives

Each class combines advance preparation, work in the room, and a documented outcome. The participant’s engagement plan and Phil Hatch’s executive sponsor report serve different purposes.

Before the class

The foundation uses pre-reading and a tailoring survey. Master classes use a pre-class interview and submitted engagement materials, analyzed by Akholi in advance.

During the class

Phil Hatch teaches and facilitates the applied work. Participants develop a management, governance, or performance plan appropriate to the selected course.

After the class

Participants take their plan back to the institution. A post-class survey and Phil’s executive sponsor report support the institution’s review of the class.

For the master classes, pre-class vendor interviews and follow-on activation assistance are optional arrangements. Discuss dates, location, cohort, and delivery arrangements with Akholi.

Phil Hatch

Phil Hatch is the Chief Executive Officer of Akholi and the author of its 2026 study. He brings more than 30 years of experience in global outsourcing, workforce development, and service delivery.

He previously led the ManpowerGroup/Experis global outsourcing business. His classes connect that operating experience with Akholi’s primary research and the engagements participants bring.

Are these private classes for our institution?

Yes. Each course is delivered onsite for an institutional cohort and taught by Phil Hatch. Discuss your proposed dates, location, participants, and delivery arrangements directly with Akholi.

Which class should we start with?

Outsourcing Lifecycle Management is the required foundation. It precedes either master class. Select governance or performance according to the work your team needs to do.

How do the two master classes differ?

Governance, Oversight & Risk uses participants’ live engagements to develop governance action plans. Performance Optimization brings the cross-functional team for one engagement together to validate its baseline and develop an improvement plan.

How are the classes tailored?

The foundation uses pre-reading and a participant survey. The master classes use interviews and engagement materials analyzed by Akholi before the class. Governance also follows the institution’s governance framework.

What do we need to share when making an enquiry?

Start with the learning priority, proposed cohort, and general engagement context. Agree any private exchange of engagement documents directly with Akholi.

Can Akholi help implement the plans?

Follow-on activation assistance for the master classes is available by separate arrangement. Akholi’s advisory practice also provides separately scoped implementation support.
